Works for Me! High Elbows

It’s germ season at school, so a few years ago I passed up giving all of my students “High 5s” and switched to “High Elbow”. It has been a huge success. Many of my special ed students are unable to describe to their parents what they are doing when they raise up their elbow, so I get questions later in the year. “Why does Johnny raise up his elbow to me when he is proud of himself?” LOL!

Gives kids the physical contact they desire. Praises them. Does NOT spread nasty winter germs!
