Getting organized

At a recent in-service, everyone was asked what they like most about their job and what they are looking forward to this year. Every. single. person. said that their favorite part of their job was the “kids”. Except me of course. Because I’m a rebel like that.

I said that my favorite part of the job is the creativity. Something I still get to enjoy ( many classroom teachers no longer get to do because of district mandates about curriculum and scheduling).

And what I’m most looking forward to this year? Being organized. I’m always seeking out new and better ways to be organized. My hope is that by the time I retire, I will be the most organized SLP/teacher in the region!

Home organization

At home, here is what organization is looking like:

I have the world’s most boring (and cheap lunches). I eat the same thing every day. Boring. I know. But easy. And brainless. In spite of it being easy and brainless, it seems to take me 30 minutes every evening to put together?! Recently, however, I finally made the brilliant realization that I could assembly line my lunches and make all 5 for the week at once.ย  Seriously, I can now put all 5 lunches together in 10 minutes. That’s a net savings of 140 minutes/week!

My other moment of genius was when I re-did my schedule for the family to include check boxes. I also put them in Dollar Tree baskets so that I can place the kids’ homework/glasses/forms etc. all in one place.

TpT and Blog organization

In addition to getting organized at home, I’m getting organized on my blog and TpT store!

I created several categories of products to make it easier to sort through my items (I’m up to 79 products on TpT!). Here’s what it looks like on TpT (on the upper left sidebar of my store):

I’ve also given into the recent trend and bundled several of my favorite products including:
