Communication Bracelets
I just saw these communication bracelets yesterday for the first time, and I am so excited about them! They combine the trendy, jelly-type bracelets (think “livestrong”) with a (very) simple communication book. What a great idea! And, why in the world didn’t I think of it first!
This is a fabulous tool for the non-verbal and minimally verbal person who needs to communicate on the go. There are 3 bracelets incorporating different areas: needs (bathroom, quiet, break), school schedule (math, recess, reading), and feelings. I have a little bit of money left in my budget and am going to buy a bunch of these for some of my students!
Those are so awesome! I wish I had had these back when I was teaching special ed. They would have made a huge improvement over the books we made for the kids!
Yeah, those boards with the pictures and velcro…these are way better. I’m bookmarking them.
I wonder if they make these for adults with aphasia. We could use them at work! Do you know if they do anything like that? It would be easier to keep up with than the communication books that the ST sets them up with.
BTW, thanks for stopping by my blog! It’s always nice to find people who appreciate the power of a good social worker. ๐
This is AMAZING!!! I’ve never seen them before. Anna would have benefitted so much from this a few years ago and all the kids with autism whose parents visit my web site … this would be GREAT for them!
Hi CC,
Your blog is awesome! I thinks it’s great that you’ve sprinkled a lot of fun ideas and themes throughout the speech information. Keep up the good work! Thanks for your kind comments on my blog. I appreciate it ๐
