The Winner of yesterday’s Dr. Seuss contest was… Jeremy! He got all 10 right (WOW!), even the one he guessed on was from the correct book, although not the exact words of the title. Jeremy, if you want this “fabulous” graphic let me know, otherwise you can just revel in your winning status! ๐

Oh man!! I’m a day late. (My computer has been down and out)
I woulda had them all!!! ๐
Congratulations, Jeremy.
I LOVE Dr. Seuss…the books that my dad used to read to me are now on my youngest son’s bookshelf and have gone through all three kids. I think I’ll cry when I read “The Best Nest” to my very first grandbaby. (Don’t panic, CC, it won’t be for a VERY long while, I hope!)
Well, I didn’t win, so I’m not sure congratulations are in order. I didn’t know the last one. I’ve never actually seen that book, although I have heard the title before.
The Best Nest is another P.D. Eastman one. They were close friends, but it’s not another pseudonym for Ted Geisel (as Dr. Seuss and Theo Lesieg are). I once thought it was the same person, probably due to his other pseudonyms, but P.D. Eastman is actually a different person with a completely different style (visually, poetically, and literarily in general).
I just noticed the post announces me as winner (I saw the comment from an email update sent by Blogger from when the comment came in, and then I saw the post after responding).
I don’t think I won if that means getting them all right. Maybe I won by getting more right than anyone else. I guessed I’m Not Going to Get Up Today, which is a different Dr. Seuss book from A Great Day for Up. I’ll be happy to take the graphic if those are the conditions of my winning, but I don’t think it would be honest to take it if it’s supposed to mean that I got them all right, because I didn’t. I was actually guessing a different book.
You are right Jeremy that I should have clarified the winning rules. But please keep in mind that I spend my day playing 1/2 games of Candyland that can never be finished because most speech therapy sessions only last 30 minutes. So to me, the winner is whoever gets the most answers correct. Since there were only 2 people who guessed, that made you the winner. Now this is a very different situation than I have at work, where I am desperately trying to get kids to be good sports and not flaunting their winning status. In my mind, you won. And because the other contestant (Jen) is a friend of mine, I’ll speak for her too that the prize is yours!
