We brainstormed when my son started using chairs as make-shift walkers, all over our newly refinished floors. The little felt pads that most stores sell did NOT do the trick. Suddenly it dawned on us. My fellow teachers do this in their classrooms. Why not at home?
We bought some cheapo tennis balls on-sale at Target, used a box cutter to cut slits (the cheapo balls were hollow), and put on our chair legs. Presto!
Added note: this is a beautiful trick to help children that are sensitive to the noises within the classroom and home.
